Food is absolutely awful. People are very unfriendly. They don’t smile at you. They don’t say hello. There’s never anybody there at the front desk. The manager doesn’t do anything if you want more information about this give me a call. I’ll be more than happy to tell you about BEAR CANYON.

Our experience

I think its great. My mom is just grumpy and doesn't like being around people half the time so I don't know exactly how she feels about it. But the common areas are all getting redone and at bright and fresh and the apartment sizes are great. The staff is also nice and very helpful and we would recommend Bear Canyon to other families.

They are very attentive from the first meeting through finalizing the move. They were very open and willing to show us around and explain all the amenities and activities available.

Safe and Affordable

It is decent and I think they are fixing it up, but there have been problems. The washers and dryers often don't work, and they have run out of food on a couple occasions during meal time. The staff are staff are conscientious and caring, which is very important.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My sister has moved into Bear Canyon Estates. I had a friend whose mother used to live there also. It's in a nice location, and it's reasonably priced. Pricing is pretty transparent. They have been very helpful, kind, and have provided useful information for us about outside resources as well. It's a little worn down, but I can see also that they are freshening it up. Beautiful facility and apartments. Staff are very friendly; especially, [name removed] who showed me around. Grounds are well cared for and easy to get around. I really like the ability to stay in same apartment even as one might need more advanced care services. Part-time nurse available on site. Remodel up shared space will be complete next month ([date removed]). Some apartments have wrap around patios w tremendous views of Sandia Mountains.
