The hearing aids were lost during the first week, and the facility did not take responsibility for them. I was also concerned about the supervision of the memory care residents. At times, patients were left unsupervised, and the staff did not always seem engaged with the residents. The room size is also too small, especially considering the needs of memory care residents. Overall, I was disappointed with the level of supervision and staff engagement.

Rooms way too small, no closet space. No parking was available when we came for tour. Not for us at all.

My aunt is in the assisted living facility of Bickford of Urbandale, and we're all happy with it. They have really good food. She goes down to eat lunch and dinner, but she likes breakfast in her room, where she just eats cereal. She likes having the ability to be able to sleep in and still get food later on. Staff is kind and helpful. Room size was fine. Meal times were a little weird. They had no recreation person at the time so activities were lacking. Have hired one recently.

My sister moved to Bickford of Urbandale's assisted living. The care is more personalized to each individual. I love the place. It's bright and welcoming, and just a nice place to be in. They make sure that the residents are served with activities and games to keep them going. The staff has also been very helpful. The dining program is just like being at a restaurant. It's really wonderful. My sister has no complaints that I know of, and she is well fed. It's just beautiful out there.
