The nursing staff was great. However, they misplaced items of my loved one and did not make an effort to even try to locate them. I found my mom had on other residents clothes and socks! They also left their food in her refrigerator! The CNAs are just there to get a check.

I have been so traumatized from what I saw while I was at this facility that I get shaky when thinking about reporting them. My grandfather couldn’t move, and while staff did not know I had arrived to his room, I witnessed them jerking him around and trying to literally make him stand on his own while raising their voices at him - when he had NO known function in his legs. One time I went in to have a meeting about his lack of care and treatment with the physical therapy team and while they were assuring me he was …

I am/was a resident of this facility

I was admitted to Brandon Court. Very little privacy given - curtain not pulled when I was in a semi private room - door not close. Staff answered call light quickly but didn't fulfill requests quickly. Food was very generic, institutional, minimal menu items from scratch. Food portions are extremely small with seconds rarely available. Aides not friendly for the most part. Evening and night staff far superior to day staff. Specific staff members during day shift were kind. Nursing supervisor tried to take car…

These people confine elders to wheelchairs if they have even the slightest mobility issues. This is done to reduce the workload of the staff and results in the loss of the ability to walk over time. My dearest friend was sent there for PT and rehab of a fractured extremity. Their “care” nearly killed her. Thank goodness her family realized what was happening and got her out in time. I fear for the poor vulnerable souls still in their facility.

Terrible communications between family and staff. They were not helpful with pain management. They had bursted pipe and had to evacuate to other cities. Mother sat in wheelchair for 6 hours during the night in the cafeteria and transported by school bus to Laurel. She has terrible pains in back, buttocks and leg with no pain care. The whole Brandon Court experience was a disaster.

My mother was at Brandon Court for approximately 6 weeks. They used the room temperature to control her by setting it to COLD. She was prescribed medications she didn’t have a diagnosis to support. They allowed her to become impacted which caused bowel proliferation even after being made aware of concerns two weeks prior. Before calling an ambulance an RN physically dug 4 cups of feces from my mother’s rectum and she had a colostomy. Staff encourage patients with depends on to urinate in the depends so they don’t h…

Board & Care Homes

Current Mississippi State Department of Health Personal Care Home directory, restricted to facilities with 1 through 16 licensed beds. Mississippi defines Personal Care Homes as residential accommodations with personal service and social care; the official category and small capacity form a conservative Board & Care proxy, but Mississippi does not certify that marketing label. Licensee remains regulatory evidence and is not inferred to be the operator. The directory establishes no current availability, price, or fee.
