PositiveWarm, welcoming and affordable
One concern is that there does not appear to be a program specifically designed to help new residents acclimate to the transition into assisted living. However, we chose this community over others because of how clean, welcoming, and inviting it felt. We were especially impressed by the open layout, the beautiful dining room, and the attractive courtyard.

My father will be moving into Brookdale Altamonte Springs. We feel that it fits him perfectly as far as some of the clientele that's there, some of the older veterans that he can interact with, and the people at the community are very pleasant to deal with. It fit his budget well, and it just had a good vibe. The apartments were a nice size, and they were squared off rooms. They weren't too narrow or too tight in any particular fashion, and a little bit better than some of the other ones we've seen. …

I live in Brookdale Altamonte Springs. They're taking good care of me, and there are a lot of good people here, and I've come to make some friends. They have a lot of activities, most of which I don't participate in. The ones that I do are on Sunday morning, there's a very good Protestant worship service. On Wednesday afternoon, there's a Catholic Eucharist service, which I also go to. I'm a retired pastor, and I'm leading a Bible study on Monday morning. The quality of the staff …

I have found that my experience is as good as that I thought would be. My only real question is why is the entrance fee to any of the facilities here in Florida as high as $[removed] before before you can move in, and then pay high monthly fee? I don't require a large amount of space, so my studio is just fine and is well maintained. The meals are good tasting. The eating area is also clean and comfortable.

They seem to know each resident personally. They keep track of who has appeared for meals and check on those who don't. I have seen them in action during an emergency and they are prompt and all hands on deck. The activities director interacts beautifully with the residents.
