CriticalBrookdale pulled out of their acceptance of [name removed] days before he moved in. It was pretty traumatic for me and my kids. We of course didn't move in so i can't speak on some but I thought for size of room, care ratio, etc was good. But since this happened I have heard similar stories about Brookdale a friend's father in law was moved into one of their facilities and they said no after a few months. They were changing management too and didn't tell me when we were touring and they knew. So some red flags I d…

PositiveMy mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s last year and then broke her femur, greatly impairing her mobility. Although there are several facilities in our area, we ultimately chose Brookdale based on the longevity and professionalism of their staff, overall cleanliness and pleasant decor, the secure nature of the facility and the wide variety of services offered. After about a month now, I am very pleased with the decision we made. My mother is adjusting well and comments often how well the staff treats her – that’s re…

PositiveWe like Brookdale Burlington Memory Care. I would be perfectly fine sending my wife there without sending her anywhere. Everything was bright and new-looking, and the people were happy and helpful. It looked like a good place. I was particularly impressed with Stephanie, the lady who runs the place, and I also talked to several other staff there. It's top-notch as far as I can tell. They were serving everybody when we arrived. We didn't eat there, but it looked pretty darn good. I was impressed. I liked e…

CriticalMy loved one was supposed to move into Brookdale Burlington Memory care, but did not end up doing so. After accepting him and me paying, they declined him three days before move in because corporate decided that he was a risk in the future as his dementia may make him aggressive. After that everything was handled very poorly and even until recently. I had a hard time getting my refund. Then they overpaid me and charged me a $[removed] late fee on monies that they sent to me by mistake. Communication was poor at bes…

PositiveI really liked the Director but unfortunately, he just left to go to another Brookdale facility closer to his home so I can't blame him there. I don't know how it will be when they get his replacement in. I'm hoping the same. He worked really hard to help me to get my mom on Medicaid after a year of her being there. The business office has been good to deal with. The overall care has been pretty good. My sister has had to take my mom and give her a bath because she hasn't been getting one as much there because I th…

PositiveThe staff - I'm including everyone in this, from management to housekeeping - made an extremely difficult decision comfortable and easy for our family. And they have not changed that at all. From the first day they have treated us with great respect. They are very good with keeping us informed. Very open and friendly with all family members every time we visit. Just really very comfortable and happy!
