Brookdale East Side

Both the staff and residents were very friendly and the place was clean and inviting. I was really impressed with what I saw. I like the variety of activities that they offer and they they will drive you on to doctors appointments on Tuesday. The dining room was more like a restaurant and people had many choices about what they could eat. The community rooms had books and puzzles available along with big TVs for watching movies or whatever you wanted.

Some aides were wonderful and others not very nice. Food was good. Room was small. My moms needs were beyond what they could handle which was half of the issue.

Room for improvement

Room is small. Staff is minimally helpful, particularly medical staff. Family had to do way more care than we had expected. Not a good fit for anyone who needs anything other than direction/encouragement.

I honestly cannot say enough good about this organization. We were desperate to find a place for my brother. He was in a horrific rehab/nursing home and developed an adversarial (Catch 22) relationship with the administration there. A Place For Mom came across my phone one Sunday morning. I called and explained our situation to a kind woman named [name removed]. Witin 48 hour we interviewed with the director and my brother cam in to see if he qualified. Staff is friendly residents are extremely friendly and welcoming. The director is a hands-on person. He doesn't always do what he says he's going to do, however. An example of this is there is a an extra rug at the front entrance, which has wrinkles on the rubber and I have tripped on it, and my sister is tripped on it, and I worry about the elders crossing it. I voiced my concern and it has not been removed so I guess it's not a concern to them even though they want us to be aware of fall risk for everyone. My mot…

The place you've been looking for

Although my mother wasn't at Brookdale long before she passed, my family and mother were grateful that we found this facility through A Place for Mom. The staff and management were very welcoming and made her transitioning to their facility very easy and stressful free. There were plenty of activities for mom to participate in which my mom was thrilled about. There is a lot of opportunities for social interactions.
