Brookdale Hickory Northeast

Very nice facility. I really liked talking with [name removed] I was concerned about the double room that was available. The Sweet lady that would be my mom’s potential room mate was obviously a hoarder. [name removed] said they would be having her clean the area that would be my mom’s side of the room. Hoarding is a mental illness and cleaning up won’t fix that situation. So she may have another room my mom could be in. She will send me pics soon.

I would never recommend Brookdale NE. My experience was extremely disappointing. The facility felt poorly supervised, understaffed, and lacking in proper care and attention. Some staff members seemed like they simply didn’t care about the residents, and the overall environment was unpleasant, including cleanliness and unpleasant odors. A nice place to live. It's pretty and well-kept. Administrative staff are excellent to work with and very friendly. I received excellent details about them.

I thought facilities and rooms very nice. I think would be very nice community. They are not able to offer care we need.

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The guide was very friendly and gave me a chance to see all of the facility. It was very clean and tidy. The residents that I met were nice and welcoming. I talked to a resident that I knew and had not seen in years. (a relative of my deceased husband) She was 100 years old but so alert and able to remember me and we had a wonderful conversation. I think Brookdale Hickory Northeast is one of the nicest and cleanest environments. Their environment seems fresh. I saw the community area, the kitchen, and everything. It was really nice. It is just so far away. No odors in the air. Everything smelled fresh. It's like living in an apartment building with a cafeteria and everything. I really enjoyed the staff, and he was really nice and very helpful. My problem is that I have a very low income, and to be able to pay for things like cleaning my house is sort o…
