CriticalWe do not recommend Brookwood For patients with transfer needs to and from chairs, beds, showers, and scooters.
Brookdale was under equipped to provide safe support for my brother. After returning from the dinner hall on his scooter, and waiting for a half an hour to be transferred to his recliner. He attempted to move himself falling and breaking five ribs and hitting his head. This led to 5 weeks in the hospital. As industry professionals, I'm sure they knew he would have been better off in a board and care facility with a small number of patients, but I guess the potential income was too much temptation to resist. Brookdale provides no nursing or medical care. My husband needs that. As a result of them not caring for him properly, he was transported to the VA hospital in Loma Linda. He was then taken to a nursing home where he didn't get much better care for his particular needs. The Sales Manager introduced me to Brookdale. When I asked him about nurse care he said there was a nurse on staff and there were residents who were confined to bed.
