Brookdale Pensacola

The residence is spacious, nicely decorated, and well-thought-out, as are the apartments. Everything looked clean and smelled fresh. The Staff that we met were cheerful and pleasant; the residents seemed happy. The building has an enclosed patio with access to a nicely landscaped courtyard, where some turtles reside; apparently, the residents enjoy feeding and watching them. Overall, it appeared to be a really nice place to live.

Well the staff are ok. The place is kind of clean. They do have a bug problem but they are working on that. My Aunt has lost of food restrictions. Lactose intolerant IBS with cramps. And gluten intolerant. So the food is a big issue! Have started looking at nursing facilities. For my Aunt she's 96. They do try and get her out of her room. But she doesn't want to leave her room. She basically has giving up on life. I see her most every day. And I have hired someone to come in on weekends so I can take a break. And s…

It was very nice, but my bar was set low. I was coming from The Residence, which looks like an institution compared to breakdown. It looks like a home.

Absolutely fantastic!

Brookdale was excellent. They are really great people. From this first meeting to the final departure, they were loving and caring. I'm so thankful for their thoughtfulness toward me and my family and so grateful for taking such good care of mom.

The manager was very friendly and answered all questions presented to her. We toured the facility & we’re impressed with the warm surroundings & the staff all appeared to be friendly with the people they attended to. We were shown the model suite & although it seemed a tad small, we were okay with it as my mother would be staying there for a short 10 day stay. One thing I liked was the walk-in shower, it had no step up which is much safer for my 98 yr old mother.

Everyone in the front office is inspiring in their enthusiasm for the care of their residents. Overall it is clean though somewhat dated - they anticipate new paint in the halls and common areas and then expect the flooring in those areas to also be replaced/updated. They maintain that their focus is on making the resident feel at home and cared for. All the staff we met were friendly and seemed to genuinely care for their charges.
