I liked Brookdale Port Charlotte. It was very clean and very neat. They had a lot to offer. The staff members were very nice and very pleasant, but they didn't go out of their way for you as they did at the other place. There's a lot of turnover there. When I met with the first person, I didn't hear back from anybody. I called again. They said, "Oh, she's no longer with us," but the information didn't get passed on, unfortunately, so nobody called me back. Nevertheless, the rooms …

Several staff members were very caring and attentive to my mother's needs and my concerns, but the atmosphere has changed over the past few months, and I have seen a turnover of staff and frustration that they. are overworked and underpaid. The residents seem unhappier, and my mom is depressed and under stimulated. She rarely leaves her room except for meals, and the room is unkempt and depressing.
