Review for Brookdale Sarasota Midtown

The facility is fairly clean, but the first floor smells like pet pee very badly. The food is good, but meal times are inconsistent in the morning because of a shortage of staff. The elevators are fast, and the hands-on care is great. However, there is a lack of training and experience during night shifts, and you can't get hold of anyone at night. They advertise that they transport to doctors' offices, but their bus is always broken, and they had an excuse every time we tried to schedule anything. The activities…

Terrific staff! Would definitely recommend

Staff were terrific! Greeted every resident by name, and each other. Food was good and activities were available, though husband was reluctant to participate, could usually coax him with promise of treats. Had themed family dinner once a month, which was lovely. Room was always clean and laundry done. Room was much larger than he needed. Unfortunately, after falling and breaking his humerus, his needs became too great to stay there, but I was very happy with the care given when he was there.

The people were wonderful. The facility and activities were good. We are comparing costs and this community isn’t a Medicaid community. That’s not helpful for us. We liked Grand Villa better. [removed] is a possibility as well.

The staff was exceptional friendly and accommodating. Everyone smiled and said hello. The tour included 2 rooms. Also, included were dining area and sample menu for the day, social areas, activity area, beverage station etc...I would say it appeared clean and neat. Overall a good experience. I was given a folder of information and pricing.

Delight and comfort

Since our loved one has been living at Brookdale we have had peace of mind. The staff there, most especially[name removed], have been great. We receive pictures on a regular basis and he goes on outings. If we text Paula she responds very quickly. If he needs something or there is a issue of any sort all We have to do is call or text. All The staff are very friendly. We are so very thankful for them all.

Great place even better people

This place has LITTERALY saved my mothers life. Everyone is patient, professional and caring. My mother has the ability to be "difficult" at times, but everyone is always courteous they even remember my name when I come to visit my mother!!!
