Brookdale Summer Ridge needs improvement in many areas. There is a new Executive Director who is attempting to make changes. Cleanliness of facility-Painting currently being done. Carpets are extremely dirty. Never were vacuumed in the year my parent has been there. My parent has made great friends. Friendliness is not a problem. Quality of care-Under staffed in many areas; housekeeping (my parents room was not cleaned for 2 weeks when it is to be cleaned weekly). Residents do not receive meds in a timely manne…

The staff is why we chose Brookdale. When you walk in there is a young lady at the desk. Sooo friendly!! Three office doors off the foyer and most of the time the doors are open. The residence where fobs around their neck with a button they push that alert staff that they need something. Even if it's a simple as the resident can't get their TV on, they will come and turn their TV on for them. The food there is nothing special, but it is nutritious. We allow my mom to have secondary items of food that she can supple…

We recently got our neighbor of 20 years a place there. She lost her home and has fallen several times. The staff and other residents seem very nice and willing to help her. She has a small room but seems to like it and the place so far. I would recomend to others.

Our family's experience with Brookdale

[name removed] and [name removed] were fantastic and loved their facilities. Unfortunately my MIL passed before we could move her in. I would recommend them to others who are searching for senior living for their loved one. Brookdale will be receiving my SIL parents soon as she was as impressed as we were. When my wife and I are ready we will be there as well.

This facility needs to improve in many areas

Brookdale is under staffed. Management has to often work with serving staff in order to feed residents. There have been 2 activity directors in approximately a 4 month timeframe. Activities are lacking in many ways. The food the residents are receiving is not nourishing healthy food. Dessert consists of a jello cup. Promotional material advertises snacks available at any time. Snacks have never been offered residents! The cleaning staff does not clean the rooms on a weekly basis.
