The first part for a wonderful beginning

Rate all areas a 5!! First time we entered Brookdale, we immediately said to each other...this is it. This is her style. Very clean and well-kept. No hint of "nursing home" aroma was noted. [name removed] was a fabulous representative for your facility. He helped us understand how everything is going to be done in order keep our sister better health wise and safe. Review for Brookdale Troy

The facility was always clean, the staff was very nice to my Mom and our family. The room and bathroom were a decent size. The facility had a wide range of activities for the residence. The facility was very quiet. The one negative comment I have is that the emergency pull chord wasn't reattached when her room was prepared. My Mom fell out of bed and no one came when she pulled the chord. She had to scream until someone came in.

The food is not designed for anyone that is Type 2 diabetic. Unfortunately, no place is designed for that. It fosters higher blood sugars. I still consider it the next best thing to having my mom in my home.

We always thought Brookdale was lovely from the outside, but after our tour, we were just as impressed with the inside as well. We liked it too because it has fewer people there, then in other Assisted Living places residents were very friendly and staff were all amazing and kind.
