★★★★★
PositiveThe place was really nice. A lot of people, gym, pool, nice dining, but was a little overwhelming for the person who was deciding on where to live.
★★★★★
PositiveThe tour experience I had of the independent living community of Calder Woods was very good. What I like most is that they have independent living with assisted living, and memory care units. The place made you feel very welcome. The independent living was like an apartment, so you felt like you were in an apartment complex as opposed to a retirement community. The person who gave the tour was extremely helpful and knew all the different things about the place. She showed me two different apartments, and they were …

PositiveCalder Woods in Beaumont TX had transportation from 9-3 every day for all kinds of appointments. CW took a bus to grocery stores two days a week. Business office offered stamps for sale, would weigh your packages and the front desk would give them to postman, would make copies and fax documents for residents. CW also offered laundry services for your linens each week and delivered them to your door clean.

PositiveMy dad is staying at Calder Woods, he's in their assisted living. The people working there are good. He has complained about the food, and there have been complaints about that, but they're trying to improve on it. The rooms are expensive, but they are clean. It also doesn't smell like a nursing home or anything like that. That's what I like most about it because it doesn't remind me of a nursing home. They have a lot of things for the residents to do. They take them to places, they have bi…

PositiveWe toured Calder Woods for my dad. Their community is extremely nice, but I would say, is out of reach for a wider community. They are probably higher in cost than any of the other communities. It's a very nice community, but it was not for us. The staff was very friendly and they make you feel comfortable. We were able to try the food. It was an open occasion, so we had a special meal. I don't know if they have good food at all times, though. They have several different rooms. Some we found to be like a …

PositiveThis is my first experience with memory care. I have been very satisfied with the treatment to my loved one. Several instances I wish could have been avoided but not possible in a facility dealing with memory care residents. The staff assist her as much as possible.
