The staff is very personable - my mom really loves it there and adjusted much quicker than expected. The room size is very comfortable. The food is iffy - some days she loves it, some days she won't eat it. Overall, we are happy with the decision.

I like Charter Senior Living at Bowie's setup. I like that they have different activities they do every month. Along with that, there is a college that's not that far from them, and they have representatives from the college to come over and invite the seniors to go and see a performance or something that they might have there, which is good, because then you get out and you're exploring different things and you're not just confined there. However, I found the level of attention my father needed was not provided as time passed. If you have a loved one there, you must visit everyday to ensure proper care.

My dad only ended up living for one week when transferred to Charter, so my experience is limited. It is difficult to work with Charter and Gilchrist Hospice together and to get medication when first getting there or a new prescription or a change in instruction as their pharmacy is in Virginia and delivers in the middle of the night.
