CriticalI toured Colonial Manor Nursing Home, and it was horrible. The minute I walked in, the strong smell of urine overwhelmed me. You can't have a room for yourself like the other place, and you're too close to another person. The staff member did her job exactly as she was supposed to. She answered a lot of questions and was patient. When I was there, a group of people were at the entrance talking about their complaints about the place. That should have been done in privacy, in a room away from where people a…

CriticalColonial Manor Nursing Home had been recently purchased by a different company. They were in the midst of remodeling when we toured it, so there was some construction work going on. We saw an empty room, and it was OK. The person who gave me the tour was OK and was very willing to answer questions. She was trying very hard to push the fact that they were in the midst of remodeling and doing better about staffing levels. We saw the dining area, but we did not eat their food. It was large, but nothing spectacular. Th…

CriticalThe food is terrible, very small portions. The facility is rundown, old, and dirty. They never changed the bedding, picked up the trash in the room, or swept/mopped the floor in the room. Not enough staff, they never checked on my loved one, only to give medicine and say it was time to eat. Trying to get the Social Worker to help you is impossible, you have to stay on top of her to get anything done. What should have taken the Social Worker one day to complete took a week!

CriticalGreat residents, but poor staffing and your loved ones will not be taken care of there is never enough staff and I just wouldn't recommend this place

CriticalI have had several relatives in this facility and can definitely see the difference between the previous owners and the current management team. The previous owners would never let the facility and staff become as run down as it is now, and took great pride in caring for the residents. I personally heard the head of their nursing staff yelling at the nurses in the hall way, and staff members who were cussing in front of visitors and their relatives. I would never let one of my relatives stay in here again.

PositiveColonial Manor was a beautiful facility. The people that run the place are topnotch. The rooms were fine and clean, and the place smelled good and was well kept. They had a dining room, and there were people that were helping feed some of the patients. They had Christian services.
