I live about 5 hours from mom and got the call from a family member late one Saturday night that she had a fall and was being taken to the hospital for evaluation. I arrived the next morning and knew that family in the area couldn’t take care of her needs and that her house was too much house for her. I contacted Country Meadows and took a tour. They had established rotation on the food so that if there was something on the menu that he didn't care for, I had difficulty getting that substituted. They didn't necessarily cater to his tastes. My dad was at Country Meadows Nursing and Rehab Center. For cleanliness, overall it's pretty clean. They could have improved on some things. They only gave him one shower in the 14 days that he was there. I had to do it another time. They weren't very efficient with having him go to the bathroom. I had to do it a couple of times. My mom has been living at Country Meadows, in the Pathways Unit, for over a year and a half. She has a lovely apartment with many of her own items from home, creating a warm, comfortable and familiar environment. She has very kind caretakers who enjoy caring for her and making sure she feels safe and comfortable. I feel confident and pleased that her needs are being met.
