Covenant Living of Florida was a rehab center. My mom stayed there for three weeks. The other place is much better in communication, greetings, and information. The food was maybe a little bit better in this place, but the communication was absolutely horrible. The individual staff members who were dealing with her directly were very helpful and very informative. They were fantastic, but the administrative side had no information. I toured Covenant Living of Florida. If you were on one floor, you would have a balcony. If you were on the ground floor, you would have a screened-in room and a little patio outside. I like that you have some outside space. They had a lap pool, but they also had a Jacuzzi. Covenant Living of Florida is right next to an 80-acre park, so you could do a lot of walking and get a lot of exercise. You can have your dog there, too. Covenant Living of Florida is an excellent place to be. There's a lot of ambulatory people. Sometimes you visit a place, and they have a lot of people with walkers, and that turns me off. The rooms are very nice. They're adequate for one person. The staff who gave the tour was excellent. She was very accommodating and answered all my questions. I tried out the food, but it was Octoberfest so I didn't like that type of food. The place was very clean. Everything seemed to be accessible.

I liked Covenant Living of Florida. They have about everything that I would want. The only thing I wasn't sure about was the amount of meals. You only get one meal a day. It was like you get so many dollars and every time you eat, it comes out of your fund. Otherwise, you have to pay for it. My interaction with the staff was very good. Kim was excellent. She has tried to follow through with me a couple of times. They're adjacent to a huge park. So, there's a lot of outdoor things they offer.

I have chosen Covenant Living of Florida for my dad. One of the biggest pieces was the proximity to where my family lives, and the other piece was the pricing. For an independent living community, compared to some of the other places that we looked at, this one is fairly priced, taking into account the services that it offers. Covenant Living of Florida was very spread out and as far as getting around for someone who has limited mobility, I think it would be hard. I feel like it was very expensive, so it's kind of out of our price range because you had to do the buy-in. The facilities were beautiful. It's just a different type of senior living.
