My parent is in the Memory Care unit at Danbury and we wish we had chosen somewhere else for them. We now know why there was no waiting list at Danbury. Pros: clean, the actvities people are great and a lot of fun, nurses are excellent. Cons: NO consistancy with anything (going to bed, getting up, showers, eating, etc.). Aides are not good. They have a very high turnover. They always seem short-staffed. Aides walk around looking at their phones all day long. Food is ok, but not good. The dining room wait staff is…

Nurses and activity ladies are great! Aides, for the most part, are good. Food is okay. I think assisted living gets better food than memory care. Memory care gets some odd combinations of food. Memory care is not the best for non-ambulatory residents. They are very inconsistent with the time he gets up/ goes to bed. They get him up as early as 7:30 am or as late as 10:30 am. We are interested in independent living which provides activities with fellow Independent living residents as well as the opportunity to use the activities offered to the residents of the main building. We found all of our requests met. We viewed one of the villas that has a beautiful view of the property lake from an all season room as well as an outdoor patio. The staff at Danbury is very helpful and well trained. Everyone in the office, nurses, aides, dining, maintenance etc. have been fantastic. They are friendly and respectful. Always there to assist in any way needed. The facility is lovely and just what my Dad needed.

PositiveNice fit for mom
Since my mom has arrived at the Danbury she has taken care of very well. The staff in the memory care unit are very nice ,understanding ,friendly and accommodating. The area itself is nicely done and everyone is taken care of. The food seems good from what I've seen. My mom's apartment is just enough space for her and is very nice. Overall the Danbury is a nice fit for my mom. It calms my mind that she is somewhere being taken care of.

I've been in 5 different care facilities and Danbury by far is the best. The staff truly cares whether I'm taken care of or not. The therapy staff set forth a plan to help me to achieve my goals - from helping me keep my balance to being able to walk the whole building without my walker
