The staff is very friendly. Just walking down the hallway is pleasant because everyone says hello. We're using the nurse practitioner who I think of as a PCP but each Doctor seems to be working independently. It seems like nobody is overseeing the care. The on the floor nurses are absolute angels! The facility is 175 years old but is clean. The residents rooms are very clean. The rooms are well maintained and big enough for their purpose. The food is OK but this is not a five star hotel. I toured the Deer Meadows Retirement Community. It was accommodating. It was comfortable, and the people there seemed very happy to be there. It was pretty clean. It was decent, like I walked into the dining room, I was impressed. I have multiple sclerosis, so I used a rollator. She fell a lot. She fell three times in two days and they put her in the hospital. Then we moved her to their rehab side and I kept asking how much time was covered by the insurance and they kept saying they didn't know. Well after three weeks, my husband and I were going on vacation and we got the call that her time was up that day. I called to appeal and an hour later I got the call that it was declined. The next day, I got a call from the director asking how soon we could move her out. I said we were away and sh…

They have been unable to keep enough staff to take care of residents!!! As far as the food goes, they need more of a variety, a proper diet for people with diabetes, and more choices to choose from on the menu.
