Had a very bad experience at this facility with my step-father. My mother tried to have him discharged as he was scheduled to go to assisted living facility. Care manager stated he could not be released before 2 weeks, yet he was not receiving the physical therapy he was admitted for. Nor was he being assisted to bathroom. He was given a urinal. We toured this place before my husband entered the rehab. Tour was nothing like the room he had. The walls had repair patches on them as well as holes as well. the rooms are disgusting, floors are sticky, never cleaned the entire time my husband was there. His bed was broken and never fixed, the sink in the bathroom was detached from the wall. The food was disgusting, and they do not provide special diets for patients on Dr recommended diets. My husband was on a renal diet and the did not even know what that was. Desert Blossom Health & Rehabilitation appeared to be understaffed because if you push your call button, you have to wait forever. And they ran out of my pain meds for five days. Instead of helping you to the bathroom, they would just put a diaper on you, so it was easier for them. It's like a hospital. I shared a room. It was very, very small. Avoid this place like COVID. From the night my mother got there to the time she left, this place just seemed to not care one bit. Sure...there are a few staff that take the time to care, but so many seemed either burned out, or just don't care. She was supposed to go for Rehab. This place is a dump. The rooms are dirty, paint and plaster falling off the walls. The cleaning people don't know what cleaning means. The staff does not care about the patents. My loved one was in a dirty bed for 2 days, no one changed the sheets or pillow cases.
