I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

They don’t care they just do not care for the patients. They have a secure unit that they do not give any attention to those patients. They just literally just ignore them and sit them in a room. I don’t know how the other side of facility is cared. I’m speaking for the secure side with dementia. They don’t have any programs to assist they don’t care to assist. the trauma of resetting and relocating a love one hard enough

This is an horrible establish to place a love one here. My sister died of COVID under this places care. For reasons that I do not have enough room on this post to say, I was in the process of getting her moved from this place. She was rushed to ER and had an infections that could have been prevented had the staff checked on her. She DIED under their watch. The staff did not even call the family or send a card or flowers to her funeral. Then they had the audacity to not answer the phone or return calls when I had qu…

I visited this facility

I visited Desoto Nursing Home and I did not like it. The place has been there for years and years. I just find it old. They showed me where the patients take a shower and I didn't like it. I looked nasty and mouldy. The rooms didn't look nice. They are small for two people to share. They just need to upgrade or remodel the place.

The manager, David, works very hard and cares very much for his business. The staff is what causes me to give the facility the 3 star rating, while in the presence of management or the state, the are very attentive, however, otherwise you will find a lacking sense of urgency in matters both medical and non-medical matters. I have seen many cases of patients with call li…
