Discovery Commons South Biscayne

A very nice place. Memory care side seemed to be smaller than the assisted care side, and I'm not sure of staffing levels on that side. Otherwise a very nice visit, and all questions were answered.

Considering it’s the only ECC license facility in 30 mile radius, I was pleased that it was as nice as it was. I’m not yet ready to have him go to assisted living, but I wanted to get a place signed up in Tampa to visit as well and assuming he is OK with it we will put a deposit down for future needs. I like that we are able to furnish the room with his own personal things so it will feel more like home.

Staff very friendly, clean environment. Residents we saw were engaged in activities. My mother in law seemed pleased with the tour of facility an room.

The staff was great, treated my mother well. Place seemed a little dated but no big deal. She was not there very long. One little incident, If I recall we needed some assistance of some sort and found 3 staff members just looking at their phones. They finally responded as if we were putting them out. We were very blessed that we found Discovery. With her needs other Assisted living facilities would not accept her and provide her the comfort and assistance she required. Wonderful memory care and assisted living facility

Discovery Commons South Biscayne is a rare find in today’s medical world. My father was in memory care for 16 months and I always felt confident that he was getting the best physical and mental care. My mother decided to sell her house and go into independent living there, but unfortunately her health declined and she needed assistance and eventually hospice. Both experiences were everything the family could have asked for. The staff, at all levels, is warm, compassionate, caring and friendly.

Memory care needs improvement

I would give it a five for those people who are still able to get around on their own and can make their own decisions regarding meals. The rooms are very nice. The memory care unit I would give a three. If your loved one needs extra care There is room for improvement. If your loved one is prone to getting out of bed and falling, this is not the place for you. My dad fell 3 times in one day. I did not feel safe, leaving him there and had to spend the night more than once The weekend staff do not know the patient's …
