Edgewood Alexandria is small. So, it's nice, but there are a lot of faults here, and I was told in this community that there are faults wherever we go. I think that might be a cop-out because there's always room for improvement. The original building here is not that old and then the addition came later. They added poorly built apartments and I think that could be better. They can't seem to keep employees. Right now, my garbage is falling out of the pail. My laundry isn't done. It's just la…

A decent place, but some housekeeping concerns.

From what I can see, I feel like they do a fairly decent job of caring for my loved one. I know it's a difficult job, and one I was no longer able to do myself. They get her up to go the bathroom every two hours, and they check on her in the night and will take her if she needs to go. She hasn't complained about the staff. Most of the residents seem pretty happy there, but I imagine they all want to go home on some level. Security wise, they do a good job of keeping it locked and secure for residents who wander. On…

Critical

our experience during covid.

It was hard to get in contact with my loved one. Sometimes it was smooth but other times we couldn't get ahold of anyone or the phone call would drop. Some of the simple things like showers and getting her nails clipped were not getting done. I would not recommend this community to others.

I would definitely recommend this community to others. The director and the staff have been wonderful and easy to work with. The nursing staff is also very good. The communication is great and they communicate well.

Mom loves it here

Mom has her own apartment here with a little kitchenette and a large bathroom. Mom is an immaculate house keeper and the housekeeping here does a good job to make sure it is up to her standards. They are very supportive to my mom and she is meeting new friends. She loves all the daily activities they have to offer. Mom really really likes the food and they have a cart with snack they bring around that has cookies and ice-cream. Mom loves her daily ice-cream. Mom enjoyed her time here

My mom was in this community before passing on and it was a good place and we had no complaints. The staff was nice and friendly. It was kept clean. They food was good too. They tried to engage her in the daily activities she was limited on what she could do. The landscaping was nice and well maintained. I would recommend this community.
