We didn't care for Elderwood Assisted Living at Tonawanda. It was more like a hospital setting type thing. My mother-in-law did not like it. It was just too big of a facility, so she would have had a lot of walking to go to the dining area or anything else. She's with a walker. She can walk, but not long distances. It wasn't as warm and inviting as the other place. It was nice, but it definitely didn't suit our needs. The staff was very nice. They were helpful as far as answering our questions a…

Elderwood Assisted Living at Tonawanda is one of the ones we liked. What I liked the best was being able to meet and observe some residents, and they all seemed quite happy and very social. My mother is a very social person, so that impressed me because we would have a place where she could have friends and happy people to talk to. I have a loved one living at the Tonawanda location. Unless you can afford a private room (about $5-6000 per month) you are required to share a room. The shared rooms are sized for one person; however, they squeeze two people in. Bathrooms are also shared, as well as a small desk. If you're looking to bring items from home, there's very little space for anything. (especially if you are on the door side) Staffing is constantly changing or there's just not enough per shift. I toured Elderwood Assisted Living at Tonawanda. I didn't like the fact that you had to share rooms. We wanted a single room. The upkeep was decent, but the rooms were small. The staff was very informative and gave me all the information I needed.

I toured Elderwood Assisted Living at Tonawanda. It was a nice, clean facility. The upkeep was very well maintained. They have an excellent garden, and outside, you've got a little garden in there and an excellent-looking garden. They have a community outdoor facility. The people seem to be nice. The employees were courteous and kind. Holly, who gave me the tour, was informative and very courteous.

I went to look at Elderwood Assisted Living at Tonawanda. It's an older building. It's been around a long time and with different owners. It has long hallways. It needs some updating, but it would suffice. The staff was very helpful. Their staffing ratio was very low. It was 100 residents and five staff, which is not adequate in my mind.
