CriticalI strongly urge avoiding this facility. Following a 2 month stay, my wife was worse than when she was admitted. When she was discharged, she had bedsores, was unable to walk, and they refused to test her for a UTI infection. At her discharge they said to take the UTI care up with her doctor. Earlier in her stay, it was clear from her history she had a UTI, which they refused to test for. After escalating to the nursing supervisor, they finally tested and discovered that she was positive for an ESBL UTI infection. H…

PositiveWe toured the Elderwood Assisted Living at Wheatfield, and my husband's niece is in assisted living. It's a two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit. It was clean. People come in and help with the housekeeping once or twice a week. The staff we met who took us on the tour were very pleasant, welcoming, and patient, and tried to help us out with what we'd like at this level of care. CriticalIt's just ok. I know there are worse places but I would consider it just average. They are friendly and helpful. I guess the whole problem is my parents started out in the penthouse (Heathwood) and now living in the hood. The asst living place needs a remodel and updating.

PositiveIt seems like a nice nursing home. The attitudes of the employees seem generally positive and helpful. However my mom's health took a turn for the worse and she decided to go on hospice. She continues her care at Elderwood, however she has been upgraded from assisted living to skilled nursing.

PositiveMy mom has been at Elderwood in Wheatfield for two years now in the dementia unit. The staff is absolutely wonderful. They are caring, efficient and always accessible. Yes, they are short staffed at times, like all places since COVID, but the staff will work tirelessly and all pitch in to make it work. Mom never complains about the food. PositiveMy tour of Elderwood Assisted Living at Wheatfield was very good. It was done professionally, and the facility was very clean and very organized. The rooms were clean and set up well. I saw the dining area, and it was good. It was very nice. The staff who gave the tour was very pleasant and answered all my questions. She did not rush me or anything, and she was very thorough.
