PositiveRoom for improvement
Most everything is quite adequate as far as food, activities, and staff for the most part. One thing that is very disappointing is the layout of her apartment. It is not designed for a person in a wheelchair. She can not wheel up closely to the sink (no open space for her knees) and has to reach her arms out in order to use the faucet. It is even more difficult to use the toilet and shower. Barely any space to turn around. I believe all the apartments are designed in this way so that those with disabilities have a …

My top community right now is Ellison of Pinecrest. I'm looking for green spaces, opportunities to interact with the outside, and a swimming pool and hot tubs, so you'd be out in fresh air. They have walking paths there next to a park with lakes, and I take the bus over there three times a week to walk around the lakes. They have balconies where I can sit out in the trees. And she was very good about taking notes about what I'd prefer as far as my apartment. I want to be looking at the golf course an…

CriticalThere is no way to speak to the director or head nurse. Phone calls, messages, and emails go unanswered. Communication amongst the staff is also a problem. They are losing the best nurses - why is that?? It seems they are interested in getting a resident in, but not sustaining a relationship thereafter. Very disappointed. ☹️
