Gardens at Ocotillo Senior Living

The Gardens at Ocotillo wasn’t right for me. We looked at several apartments, and all were above my price range. There were a/c units in each one that would interfere with placement of furniture, There is a point system for eating meals that makes no sense to me. Overall it just wasn’t my cup of tea.

The Gardens at Ocotillo Memory Care

My mother was in their memory care section of the facility. The staff were always attentive to ours or my mother's concerns. Based her condition they modified her food to meet her needs(blending) to make easier for to feed her self. The facility was always clean and well maintained. A good move for family member

Nice apartments, beautiful area, and wonderful staff! The independent living section of the facility is servicing more folks with mobility issues than many other of the "independent" facilities in town. Perhaps the average resident is less likely to be as physically active, and at a stage moving closer to assisted living as well. For us, this is perfect. My husband teeters between independent vs assisted, and we are trying to keep him as "independent" as possible. The PT staff are full time, can focus on geriatric …

Keep raising the prices and the service keeps getting worse

We couldn’t be more disappointed with this facility. While the front desk staff are great, the rest of the service and facility needs drastic improvement. The food is terrible and seems to be getting worse. The housekeeping service is very sporadic and my mom has gone weeks without her room getting cleaned. The resident activities are also minimal and there are none run by the actual employees of the facility- they seem to require the residence to run their own activities. Overall very happy, staff is amazing. I would say so far the only negative comments I can make is maintenance takes a while to get to a request, servers at the cafe don't really explain the ordering process and how to pick everything for new residents so it was confusing for my parents at the beginning. M They wish the patio was a little bigger and not walled in so they could see when they are sitting down but the apartment is the perfect size for them.

My mother was in their Memory Care Facility. Her room was quite large and provided room for her bed, desk, recliner chair. Plenty of extra storage as well. Room and bathroom were always clean and maintain. Staff was courteous and interacted with the residents well. A staff member used to engage the residents with games and activities.
