Golden Pond

In checking with most of the independent senior living places in Winter Garden I found The Golden Pond to be the best thers is. It is so nice to pay one price which includes all utilities. Also you get a washer/dryer and weekly housekeeing. And a round the clock consier service. I don't know of another independent communities with all these services. And it is great living here. Golden Pond Communities was a very old facility. If you'd like to be able to smoke and sit outside, they have their own patios there, so that's one perk, but the place needs to be updated. The bathrooms just have a toilet and a plain sink. There are no cabinets or anything for storage. You got a tiny little refrigerator and you have to get your own microwave. I found Golden Pond for my ex husband. There's two things that I like. I like that they don't have levels of care. There's just a set fee. So, a lot of times they have the rent or whatever the monthly fee is, and then they have levels of care that they charge. And this way I just know that he's getting whatever he needs today, and he'll get what he needs tomorrow, and years to come, and the rate isn't changing, so I can budget better. This facility went above and beyond professionalism for the help which I needed to find a place I could leave my father and not have to worry about the care required for a 92 year old World War 2 veteran who became blind just in the last couple of years. So many options to keep him busy and above all,happy! My father has been in Golden Pond in Winter Garden for almost five years now. The location is nice. It's right off the West Orange trail. It's restricted to electric wheelchairs, so it's really easy for him to take the West Orange trail and go to downtown Winter Garden. They have a farmers' market every Saturday, and he likes that. The staff is friendly. They're kind of short on staff as far as the nursing goes. The food is decent. It's a nice facility, and all the residents seem happy…

Very Safe Place

I want to thank the Administrator and the staff for a job well done. We are totally protected from this virus. So many steps are taken before anyone comes into the facility including staff. Our new Director Mr. [name removed] has done a wonderful job in keeping residents safe. Not only an I a resident but my Mother of 96 is here, as well as my Sister-in-Law’s Mother 97 is also at the Golden Pond.
