I am a resident of Goodwin House Alexandria. It's quite nice. The staff is wonderful, and there's always someone there to help you. We have quite a lot of things. We have a conversation meeting, and it's very good. There's a clinical and medical services discussion, a strong memory group, and a Food Truck Friday. There's a wandering docent who talks about art, a residence council meeting, bingo, and a kitchen tour with the executive chef. The food is not wonderful, but it's quite good.…

We went to look at Goodwin House Alexandria. The problem we had was that it was away from everything. You'd have to drive to stores or get transportation. It was sort of a suburban area. It was well maintained. The people were good. It was a pleasant place. They had a variety of floor plans. The physical conditions and the upkeep were excellent. My mother moved to The Goodwin House in Alexandria a few years after my father passed away. She absolutely loved it. She had a sunny one-bedroom apartment, and she participated in a number of activities and classes that were offered. She made new friends and enjoyed delicious dinners and, often, musical programs in the evenings. When her health declined and she had to move onto the healthcare unit, I knew she would be well cared for. I was only three hours away and could visit her often. I am so grateful to everyon…

I liked that Goodwin House Alexandria had lovely apartments. I had lunch there many times, and the food was excellent. The food service was also wonderful. They have good choices of what you want to eat. They always have cookies and fruits, if you want it. It was very efficient. The ladies who help serve are very kind and patient. My in-laws are in Goodwin House Alexandria. They were interested in it because it provided full care from when you first went in, to when you last went out and that's where they're at. They started independent living, went to assisted living, and now they're in the skilled nursing part of it. They're taken care of although for them to get the right kind of care, it takes a good amount of family involvement to make sure that things are being done the way they should be. I visited Goodwin House. I am impressed with the residents and the staff. I am also impressed with the activities. The facility was carefully laid out. It's attractive, homey, and lovely.
