PositiveI toured Granite Farms Estates. The residents were not interacting with me, whereas at the other facility, they came to me, but it's a beautiful place. The lobby is lovely. It's very grand. I didn't have food there, but it smelled wonderful. The apartments were also very nice. I like the other facility better but still liked Granite Farms Estates.

PositiveI toured Granite Farms Estates. I was with two of my friends, and we noticed the same thing, that everybody seemed happy. It seemed to be a friendly place. There's a concept of continuous care. They go on trips, they give you transportation to stores once a week or something, and they take you to church, and that's important to me. CriticalMy friend was initially accepted. He had his physical, financial review. Then they tell him they made an error in quoting the enterance fee. In the mean time they have him pick out his paint and appliances. Then they retract their acceptance offer. How sad. This is a very emotional decision and they led this person on for several weeks.

PositiveGranite Farms Estates was pretty rural, but it's close to the little town of Media (which is a really nice little town). You get a certain number of meals per month. You can have lunch or dinner, and you can do more for a little extra. If you want less, you can just do whatever you want. You don't have to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day in their restaurant. It was a nice place. It had a pool, which I liked. PositiveThe Granite Farms Estates was very nice, very open, and had very large areas for people to meet. I have a friend there, so I saw what it was like too. She was in the memory care and she was alone by herself but her room was too small. The hallways and other areas were big though. I also had lunch with her and the food was good. The facility was just a rectangular-shaped building so it was not as attractive as the other facilities we looked at, but it's less than a mile away from the nearest hospital.

PositiveMy mom has been here 14 years. My mom went in here independent and loved it and has since then moved to more care. She gets involved in so many activities. We have eaten here many times and the food is wonderful. Overall, we are very happy with our experience here and would recommend to others looking if you are able to afford it.
