We had chosen Highlands Senior Living Forest City because my mom only has so much money and it fit within her range. During my tour of the place, they showed me the assisted living apartments and the lady who did it was very nice. The room has a dresser and a bed with concrete walls. They're also trying to renovate because it is an extremely old building. For food, they provide 3 meals and 3 snacks a day.

I wanted to take a moment to let you know how much I appreciate the care that is given to my MawMaw at this facility. I love the family atmosphere that is in this place! My MawMaw had to have more care than we could give her and it was a very difficult decision to make to place her in another home. After seeing how well [name removed] , the nurse takes care of her gives me peace if mind that she is being taken care of. We toured Highlands Senior Living Forest City. My husband and I didn't like anything about it. It was dirty and packed up, and it was not presentable at all. We had an appointment set up for that day. When we got there, they didn't know anything about it. They're not organized. The person that was giving out the medicine is the one who showed us the rooms and things, but they were all dirty, and also the shower room. We just wanted to get out of there. My mother lives at the center. She was diagnosed with dementia. Mom can do something’s for herself but needs assistance some times, all the staff are willing and available to help. I have been at this home different times a day and it has always the same helpful, pleasant staff and good atmosphere. It’s not the newest and could use a little sprucing up (which is in progress we are told) but if you’re looking for some place safe and the staff really care about residents this is the place.
