PositiveI am a resident here and i see some of the negative things people say. Some people just like to complain. The past few years the community has gone so far beyond what we got when I moved in over 5 years ago. We have great activities and the our meals are amazing. In the past year our care people have so improved with [name removed] in charge. Nobody is perfect but it is a great place to live.

PositiveIt all seems great! My only complaint is when I call with questions, I never receive a call back from the director of nursing. An example is the LTC plan. When I call for status no call back. I was told when we were researching facilities the Ivy handles all the paperwork, then I pay and get reimbursed. Which is fine, but at this point I have paid several months with no word on when I can expect reimbursement. I leave calls and send emails. All I ask for is a response, please.

PositiveBeautiful happy faculty. Both residents and staff. The layout is comfortable and cozy and it’s lovely that the layout is the same on each floor and that each had an inviting outdoor space. The ratio of caregivers to residents is also very reassuring

PositiveStaff is fantastic. They know the residents and their particular needs/quirks. There's activities every day--a calendar for the next days' activities is left outside each resident's door every afternoon. There are daily outings to various spots in SF--we went to a Giants game last week and there are trips to Golden Gate Park, theater, Safeway and Target. There's a film shown twice every day. Various artists, singers, etc come and entertain. There's always something to do! There are two dining rooms. One on the t…

CriticalAssisted living staff is variable with competence. Some are excellent but a few are not as experienced. Wait times can be longer than advertised (15 minutes) when they are short staff or busy. Sales staff very responsive but administrative staff not. Requests rarely responded to in a timely manner and mostly require in person complaining. For medical issues, regulations make changes in the routine more complicated (orders need to be faxed for anything outside their scope of care). Excellent variety of activities. F…

PositiveI rate the memory care unit at Ivy Park a 5 out of 5. The staff treat residents with kindness, respect, and patience. They consistently demonstrate proactive care, anticipating residents' needs and providing attention even before being asked. [Name removed] was very happy with the care he received during his final days, particularly from [name removed]. I mentioned that the following day would be [name removed]'s 90th birthday and that he might have many visitors. Instead of leaving him in bed, [name removed] dres…
