Nice atmosphere but needs improvement in level of care

My mom did not like JRP. My mom was assessed as level 3 for service care, however, we feel she was not provided sufficient care of level 3! The Staff/aids never walked her down to the dining area or to the activities area to play Bingo when it was pretty far for my mom to walk that far. My mom did not like how small her room was and hated the small refrigerator. Her ice cube trays always froze to the bottom of the small freezer which made it very hard for her to get her own ice out of the freezer. The patio and cou…

I highly recommend this facility

The facility is cozy, the staff is great, the meals seem to be cooked with care and communication is very good. The rating is because of the small size of her apartment

It's a smaller community verse a large group. yes I would recommend as of this point with our experience. we have only been there since end of [date removed].

We toured Jersey Ridge Place during our search for a Memory Care facility for our loved one. This facility was small, clean, and intimate. However, they were full and did not have any availability at the time we needed it.

Quality

We had our mother at this facility for about 4 years. While the first couple of years were great this was probably because she was ambulatory and able to get around on her own. Once she required more help with showers and dressing the quality of care deteriorated. The cleaning declined. While I understand that they were only providing "light cleaning" we found the dust under her bed and throughout her apartment. The attention to her needs also declined. Not really impressed with 2/3 of directors . The food leaves much to be desired.While it has improved with new kitchen director. Since his arrival a number of options are now available. I still find it hard to believe she hat menus are reviewed and/or designed by a Registered Dietitian. Be sure to as very detailed and pointed questions so you know what to expect and what extras you might be changed for when needs change. Also the sundry items you will be expected to provide.
