I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Our loved one was a resident. The experience with the aides was quite positive- they were very compassionate and attentive, yet the turnover was very high. Never a good sign. Talk to families vs. reading brochures. Our journey began with a amatuer home assessment and then evolved to experience genuine care by compassionate aides. As our loved one's actual care need was revealed-- not addressed in their rushed home assessment-- how the facility can actually serve a resident's care was entirely different th…

Aides are super, management is not

Our experience with Juniper was poor. Head of nursing accepted our mom with a vague home assessment. When she arrived, they did a second assessment, making determinations on what her ADL’s were, and then stumbled to meet her where she was at from the onset of her entry. They displayed a lack of professionalism when they were in error. They kept perfume and nail polish in her room after her doctor required all poisons to be removed, endangering her. They only took these items away when my family inquired and showed …

The facility is definitely aging and should be remodeled to 2025 standards. There is an entire floor not being utilized in the skilled nursing facility. I’ve experienced numerous days when staffing was below standards and the menus are not prepared with aging residents in mind. For $500 a day I am not happy with my mother’s accommodations. She definitely deserves more dignity.

After developing an infection in the mesh of a post prostate surgery hernia, I was in & out of the hospital, & another skilled care facility. I was not getting scheduled for surgery to solve the problem. The surgeon at Danville, was even calling my wife to see why the surgery wasn't getting scheduled. I was home for 6 days, all summer. I refused to go back home when I was being discharge from another facility. I was able to get into Juniper. When I got there, I really had given up. After being at Juniper for a coup…

Good Community, Good Staff

My parent has had a very good experience at Juniper Village at Brookline. The only recommendation would be to have a more thorough orientation upon becoming a resident. There are a lot of options and activities and these should be explained and have literature that can be referenced by the resident and the supporting family members to aid the resident in making decisions.

Recommend Juniper's assisted living facility, but not skilled nursing

Overall experience. 4 for assisted living, 2 for skilled nursing. Juniper's skilled nursing facility is in need of a major cosmetic overhaul. It is very dark and dingy, compared to the assisted living side, which is very bright and cheerful. Cleanliness. 3 for assisted living, 2 for skilled nursing Friendliness of staff. 4 for assisted living, 3 for skilled nursing Quality of care. 4 for assisted living, 3 for skilled nursing Meals/Dining. 4 for assisted living, 2 for skilled nursing Activities. 4 for assisted…
