The community has some positive qualities, including a good activity program, friendly staff, and a noticeable improvement in the food since a new chef came on board. The staff also seemed to care and do their best, but they are clearly short-staffed, and it can be difficult to find someone available to help. Call lights can also have long response times. Right from the start, even before Mom was a resident, they were going the extra mile to make sure she’d be happy and comfortable. The rooms at Ludington Woods are very nice and cleaned daily. All of the rooms have a spacious walk in closet and a private bathroom. We were encouraged to decorate her room with family pictures to help her feel “at home”. Ludington Woods serves up a great variety of food options for the residents. Rooms are very small and I wish the bathroom had a shower instead of having to use a community shower room. These are my only things I would change. The facility is very clean and well kept. Residents are well taken care of by caring staff that are very engaged with the residents. The meals are well prepared with balanced nutrition. It is a smaller community which I love.
