CriticalI was touring today for my mom and not impressed with this place at all. There were several residents at the nurses area waiting for help while the staff was just sitting there behind the counter talking. The smell in the halls was a foul urine smell mixed with cigarette smoke. The walls looked beat up and while passing a few rooms I could see broken heaters and bed parts all over the floor. The door alarms went off throughout the facility at least 4 times while I was there. No one even seem to notice I was there. …

PositiveMy wife stayed at Majestic Care of South Bend for four days, for respite. The experience was good. My wife's room was clean. They took care of my wife. The staff was about average. There were some good foods, and some were not so good. The atmosphere was OK. The people were all nice. They give you what you're asking for. They didn't keep my wife in her room all the time because she likes to talk to other people, so that can be good or bad. Even though they have an activity room that they showed me, m…

CriticalWe toured Majestic Care of South Bend. They were not good. The residents looked very unkempt. It smelled bad pretty much everywhere you go. It was kind of an obtrusive odor of a combination of B.O. and pee, so it was not good. The rooms looked like they just needed a good, fresh coat of paint and a little fixture in there, but it looked very rundown on the inside. The outside was gorgeous, but the inside did not look good. The staff member that gave me the tour was pleasant enough, and all the staff that I saw seem…

CriticalThis place was horrible. At least 90% of the staff is from a nursing agency because they can't keep good help. The agency people didn't know me and changed on a whim. The rooms are nice in the pictures but after I got there no one would change my sheets, empty the trash, or clean off my table over the bed. A shower was out of the question. The workers made me feel like I was bother if I asked for anything, even a glass of ice water. I missed my doctors appointment because I was not given a ride. The worke…

PositiveSignature of South Bend was pretty nice. The rooms were a little older as far as general appearance was concerned. The facility had been around for a while. The staff was fine. They were helpful and answered my questions. The food was decent and not bad.
