An elderly resident in his late 80s, with less than a year remaining on his lease, needs to relocate across the country to be closer to his children and grandchildren so they can provide the support and assistance that naturally become more important with age. I would move to Mease Life again in a heartbeat. The location is awesome (close to the beach, bike/walking trails, and within walking distance of numerous the open market, live music, restaurants, shops, and micro brewers among other places). The building is safe and secure. In fact we don't ever evacuate or plan for groceries and staples even if a cat 5 hurricane is headed our way. My mom stayed there 4 months. Nursing director rude unprofessional No follow thru on recommendations from doctor to staff from making neurology appointments to medications not called into pharmacy 5 days after prescribed. Poor communications lack of follow through rudeness utter disregard resident diignity

Extremely poor management. Primary care nurse practitioner made referrals only half made by staff . Please meet nurse director before you move in she unprofessional rude. When issues came up the executive director said just move on. During hurricane my mom had a balcony screen rods come apart banging and water intrusion. The nursing director downplays it wrote text they were unaware of any injuries beyond a cut finger? Her own staff reported mom had a slip and fall. They supposedly were monitoring. I received call …

My grandmother has been at Mease Manor for six years now. They claim to do outings but that’s a lie. Besides hospital visits, she has only left the property ONCE since she’s lived there. Also, the staff are inattentive and her needs often go unmet, likely due to severe understaffing. Communication is seriously lacking.
