I visited this facility

My husband and I visited the Mennowood Retirement Community's assisted living. I guess it used to be a Mennonite community and still has the spirit of that group. They don't proselytize Christianity, nothing like that. It's all secular and it's a lovely place. I also liked the fact that it's a non-profit. It was a building that had all different little nooks and crannies, and all separate kinds of rooms. They weren't all just studios, they had different varieties so it's quite nic…

Everything at Mennowood Retirement Community was wonderful. It's beautiful. It looks like a Victorian mansion. It really does. It gives you a very, comforting feeling when you walk up to it. It looks like a big, beautiful house. They do crafts. They have 2 or 3 libraries throughout. It's got little nooks and reading places where you can sit down and have a private conversation or just read a book. I would have to say of all assisted living this is the 2nd worst facility. They never do what they say they will do. The food is terrible. They don’t keep a eye on the residents. There is a reason they ask you to stay away because the mistakes these people make. I would be rich if I saved a quarter for every mistake they do. Horrible place.

Mennowood Retirement Community was very nice. They had a lot of activities, it's clean, and the food was good. The staff was great and very friendly. They have the usual activities like bingo and stuff. It was in a pretty location.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother moved into Mennowood Retirement community. It's a great community. It's nice. It's clean, and the staff is friendly and caring. They have activities every day. I sit with my mother when she has her meal. The food looks good.

Will not recommend to anyone

Our parent lived here for about a year and a half in 2016/2017. Director of Nursing (DON) is hardly ever available to answer questions. She does not return calls. Complaints by many. Many times when I visited which was almost everyday, I found my family member’s bed pad wet underneath the quilt. Breakfast tray brought in and sat on the counter hours before my parent got up. We would sit in my parents room for about four hours and nobody came in to check. Suppose to check every 2 hours. Staff would sit in the locke…
