My mother moved into Odyssey Assisted Living at Montevue. It was fantastic, but she was there for only two weeks before she fell. She has a beautiful room and a big bathroom. It’s all accessible for the elderly, and she has a refrigerator and a kitchenette with a microwave. She has a big window that looks onto a patio on the first floor and three different living rooms that she can go to. Montevue is the one that my mother is going to go. What we particularly like is the fact that the rooms are large and that each person gets an independent room. Amenities seem fine, but that's not a deciding point. They have activities, but a big activities calendar would not have mattered to her. Odyssey was friendly and inviting. The manager was very informative, asked about what my mom needed, and told us what they had to offer. She basically laid out the plan and cost, and otherwise made it beneficial and easy for my mom. The space in the avilable apartments was small, but based on what my mom needs right now, it should be OK. I do like that there is no sharing of rooms. This is a county run facility and more than 60 of the residents are on Americare. My first impression when arriving is a very lovely and well maintained facility. The receptionist was on the telephone when I arrived and never acknowledged my presence I decided to take a seat and give her privacy on the phone since she did not seem as if she intended to take a breath and say I will be right with you or anything. Am still waiting on financial approval for this facility. The person who gave us a tour could not answer many of our questions and said that they could not be answered until the financial application was complete. The physical condition of the facility itself was fair. The only reason it would be my choice would be due to costs at this time.

My mom goes in for rehab at Odyssey Assisted Living at Monteveu. They have bingo, music, a lot of entertainment, and shopping. It's a very active community. The rooms were very adequate and very nice; plus, they let you decorate and do whatever you want to the rooms.
