Oaks at Charleston

Not enough staff.

I really appreciate it. some of the staff members there were amazing, although my overall experience with the facility was very poor. The Oaks at Charleston Also shut down in April so I'm not sure how much the feedback would really help anything

Responsive care at a difficult time.

The staff and director were very helpful and responsive to my questions and concerns (I live too far from the Oaks to have visited). My mother-in-law lost a package I had sent her (it was later found under her bed), as well as a cell phone and 2 Roku sticks. Being in memory care, I would have liked her to have received better/more oversight to prevent these losses, or a process to clearly label these smaller items.

Overall positive experience

Overall, my experience with the management was good. The Oaks has recently shut down. I felt like they had too many residents and not enough staff, but even considering that I felt like they served their purpose and it overall was a good experience.

During our visit we really liked the setup, staff and the building layout. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Definitely on our list of our finalists

Responsive and Caring Personnel

I haven't been in person, but I call frequently and the executive director and everyone else I talk to is really nice and helpful.

Our family’s experience at The Oaks at Charleston Assisted Living was deeply disappointing and, at times, heartbreaking. What stood out most was the extreme lack of leadership and accountability. We raised serious concerns multiple times with the Executive Director and formally requested discussions with corporate leadership. Both my brother and I made direct requests to speak with corporate.
