PositiveThe staff working on the floors have been excellent, and the case manager has also been wonderful. Everyone has been helpful and caring, and overall, things have worked out well. When my mother first moved in, there was some confusion about transitioning to the facility’s medication management system, but the process eventually worked out. We also experienced a significant increase in costs when her level of assistance was enhanced, so it would be helpful to have more clarity upfront about how changes in care need…

PositiveWe've moved my wife to Samuel F. Vilas Home. I can go downtown, get some groceries, and pop in and see her for an hour. It's very handy. It's right next door to the hospital. It's a very old building, and they have added on about probably 80% more to the building, and it's huge now. Every room is brand new. The dining room is brand new. Everything is new. We moved her into a room that hadn't been lived in yet. Everything is carpeted. Her room is larger than the one she had before, and …

PositiveTammy, who gave us the tour at Samuel F. Vilas Home, was outstanding. I met some of the senior people who work there. Tammy took us to some of the rooms, which were good. She took us to the restaurant, where I observed that the folks eating all seemed happy. It seemed like a good group of people, but I noticed the three people at the door to greet us with Tammy probably could use a little bit more training. They didn't seem to be that happy to see us. It was more of an effort, you could tell. There was no eye …

PositiveI will say we could not be happier with the care my mom is receiving. She feels at home in fact she call her room her home. She is happy and feels very safe. The activities she has attended have been good for her and my sisters and I love the fact the she goes to the dining room for her meals which keep her moving during the day. She has people she has gotten to know that she talks with each day.

PositiveThe Vilas Home experience has been nothing short of incredible. We made a very quick transition for our Mom and the staff at Vilas made it seamless. They helped us at every turn to insure it happened in time and with minimal impact on our Mom. This was a big step for us and especially Mom. Now that she's been there for a while, we know it was the right place. She is busy every day with activities and social connections. The staff is great, helpful, very involved, supportive and listen to and address any concerns. W…
