Shepherd of Gurnee

Did not like it at all, it was dark and depressing. There were 2 men sitting all by themselves in the only communal gathering space. There was no activity other than a TV up on the wall. The other rooms were not able to be viewed as they had residents in them but from the doorway they were small and sparse. Overall not a place I would want a family member living. My friend has lived at Shepherd Premier Senior Living for 3 months. A small boutique center where she is well cared for. Private, clean rooms, attentive staff, meals prepared by staff. They respond to her needs, and to my phone calls and visits. She has physical and occupational therapy from home health agency ordered by doctor of facility. This has improved her ability immensely.

I've known the Shepherd team for years and seen the work they've done in their other beautiful, assisted living homes in Harvard and Ringwood. And their Gurnee home is every bit as lovely.
