PositiveAfter my hip replacement, I wasn't sure I'd be able to get back to living independently, but the therapy team here gave me so much confidence. They challenged me every day while making sure I felt safe. The nursing staff was attentive, my room and the facility was always clean, and everyone, from housekeeping to dietary, treated me with kindness. I left stronger than I expected, and I'm so grateful for the care I received.

CriticalOur loved one reported a physical assault by a roommate. This facility did not notify us, nor did they provide accurate information when questioned about it. Continuity of care is lacking. Staff is completely unmotivated to provide attentive care. Finger pointing seems to be the norm if concerns are raised.

PositiveI was at Sterling Care Bethesda. The nurses were wonderful, but the aides leave something to be desired. There were some aides who were wonderful and there were some who were not so wonderful. They could improve on some of the foods, too. The food was kind of the same and it was dull. Sometimes, there were things that I just couldn't eat. The breakfasts were really bad. I need a carbohydrate that's sweet, and I never got that. However, the physical appearance of the facility was nice and very good. It was…

CriticalMy father was given 9-12 months to live, from Prostate Cancer. We tried our best to keep him at home his final months. He was under the care of another facility, which was a great organization. We tried our best to keep him there, but it got to the point that my dad needed to go into a nursing home. Due to the increase of Covid cases in December, most nursing homes closed their doors to new patients. Our only option was this place. My fathers first day was traumatic. Another patient, his roommate, got up in his fac…

CriticalI DO NOT recommend this facility. In my experience, the medical staff does not work as a “team.” Medications are changed without consultation of each other or with outside consultation of patients’ providers. Or with the knowledge and consent of the patient or their proxy. Patients’ belongings never get received when family brings it to them. Nor returned when they are discharged. My family member was fearful of the nursing staff and often felt their reports or complaints will be followed by retaliation. The nurses…

PositiveBethesda Health and Rehab has made some personnel changes that are going to make the admissions process much smoother. Some people were upset with the way their process worked before but it has now added more people to enhance its quality of care.
