My apartment, in the older section, is spacious with large windows and exceptional closet space - the appliances are okay but there's no dishwasher or disposal and the trash area is quite a walk. So are the garages. Pets are allowed and that's a good thing. The noon meal is catered by Meals on Wheels but the menu features heavy food and doesn't interest me. Neither do the activities that tend to be Bingo and social gatherings with food I also can't eat. I'd like to take a painting class or …

My aunt is now in Sunnycrest Retirement Village. It has similar people with similar issues, but it's an apartment for retired folks. They have activities and buses to the grocery stores and other places. They have activities in different areas, they have mahjong, different kinds of puzzles, bowling, and church services. Sunnycrest Retirement Village was a nice facility. The rooms were adequate in size and they had a lot of areas where people could congregate and visit separate from their rooms. They have a nice dining area, and the grounds outside were very nice. They had seating areas outside and also had a garden that people could work in. It was very nice. I'm going into a brand-new apartment in Sunnycrest Retirement Village. They just built a new building. They are quite large. I think there's five or six different buildings. Some are ground level and some are high-rises, just about three stories. Compared to a lot of places, their prices are reasonable. It's about close to $1,000 a month for a one-bedroom, but it already has a washer-dryer in the apartment and a walk-in shower, which are two things that I wanted. Sunnycrest Retirement Village is a pretty decent place to live all in, but I live on the back side of the building. I have construction going on in my backyard because they're putting up a new building. Today is Saturday, and they're putting up workers out there and that annoys me. The staff are pretty good; they take care of us. We cook our own meals. They do a good job on the upkeep. It's a good place to live. It's just I'm tired of being here. I'm in Sunnycrest Retirement Village. It's independent living so they don't serve meals or anything like that. The staff was good. I have a 2-bedroom and I keep it clean myself. It's independent living so I take care of my own apartment but they also have 4 or 5 maintenance people that live here. They respond within 24 hours. They have an exercise area but it's very limited.
