At the beginning of my brother's 8-month stay, I would have given a 5 in every category. However, towards the end, I felt that the communication was generally acceptable but not as good as it was early on, so the 4 scores. like any other assisted living facility, the experience would be more enhanced if the non-resident family members lived close by to provide assistance for little things that staff should not be expected to prove ... or something of that nature. The big question people have when they put their beloved family member in assisted living is whether the staff is caring and will be kind to them. I had a lot of anxiety about this before my father moved in, especially as he suffered from dementia, but I found the company has some wonderful devoted staff. I really wanted to give Sunrise the highest marks because the front-line staff who do the daily caretaking of residents are very kind and compassionate, and I think they do a very difficult job about as well as could be expected.
