We toured Sunrise of Chevy Chase. They nickel-and-dime everything because my mother-in-law would need 24/7 care. If you look at the terms of the meals, they were roughly about $2,000 per month to feed her. They charge separately to feed her - that was not included in the monthly cost. Now, in another facility, that's all included. They were all right, but the thing was that we looked at a shared room, which means that two residents will share a bathroom. And that was even for $17,000, and it wasn't even f…

My husband was only there at Sunrise of Chevy Chase for 30 hours. They were wonderful. The staff was very, very attentive and very caring. The director of nursing was incredibly attentive, caring, and helpful. He needed a lot of assistance, and they were all very kind and very nice. I have nothing but good things to say about them. It just didn't work out. If he didn't have his issues, it would have been a five-star. It's only the administrative part that I might have issues with. Just in that short …

Sunrise of Chevy Chase is a beautifully decorated, clean facility. It is a comfortable although it could use larger/more elevators. The staff are very friendly towards each other, their clients, families & guests. Although without much variety, a core group of residents enjoy the activities led by an enthusiastic crew. More cultural field trips & stimulating activities would be a plus. The Friday live music happy hour is a hit with varied & good talent! The staff are very kind and have more positive attitudes than many places, which is nice for everyone. Some staff members would benefit from more training for particular aspects of elder care (e.g., basic use of oxygen, hearing aid recharging, transfers) but management has been responsive to these suggestions.
