The Blake at Carnes Crossroads

When you are first introduced to this place everything is sparkling and nice however that’s a set up. Staff is alerted to touring families which is why you have to schedule. The first few weeks are pretty good everyone makes your loved one a priority. Then rooms go half cleaned, laundry piles up, meds get missed, showers aren’t given, bed are left urine soaked, meals well let’s not go there. This was a nice community. They were unwilling to admit my loved one.

The community was more expensive than we wanted. It had a locked memory care unit, and it didn't have a homey feel to it.

Our experience

If your loved one is higher function with their memory loss this is not the place for them, the staff members are very interactive with the residents. For the loved ones who doesn't really know what is going on and who are non verbal this could be fine.

Our tour with The Blake was great! The facility is beautiful and they were so informative about the VA which was very helpful to us.

Center was clean, and small (not too overwhelming)
