The Brook of Cheboygan

I did not visit my mother on Friday, [date removed] because of heat advisory, thinking the Brook would be watching out for my mom. I went in on Saturday, [date removed] and was told that the heat got so oppressive in my mother's apartment that the fire alarm went off. I went into her room and it was very muggy, I checked the air conditioning and it was turned to 64 degrees, evidently someone had turned it down to cool her room since she is not able. My mother told me that they had turned it on Saturday morning but…

can't give a good review

The cleaning at the Cheboygan Brook is terrible. My mom's apartment has not been cleaned in a long time. Went in to her apartment yesterday her comforter was dirty, the floors are dirty and very little care is given. This is not a good place if you don't have family members to look out after you.

Great staff

Everything is going just fine so far. Though my loved one is facing a few health complications, the staff do what they can to cater to her needs and requests and make her feel comfortable. The meals are also good for my loved one, as she gets healthy options.

It is very beautiful. Kim was great and gave us a tour and much information. She was very helpful. It would be a great choice. However my sister may need more than they offer.

My father lived in a place called Brook of Cheboygan. I liked that place because it was smaller. They only have like 40 or 50 residents. The staff was very good. Everybody knew everybody. They had bingo, cards, and a movie theater. They had a very nice dining room. The facility was very nice. They had nice furniture. It would remind you of a fancy hotel, and they had a beauty salon.

In November of 2010, we had to make a rather quick decision to move my father into this Assisted Living Facility. The staff at The Brook was very helpful when we toured the facility. They did an assessment of my father's health and needs without making him feel belittled or more helpless than he was. After he moved in the staff seemed to make his comfort and safety their number one concern.
