PositiveThe Californian seemed pleasant and clean. The apartment was nice and roomy. The staff was good. She was nice and informative. There was an exercise class, and there were people in a TV room, but that was all I saw.

PositiveI visited the assisted living facility of The Californian a couple of times. The tours were good. It's a very nice place, and the facility itself is very well cared for. The clients there seem to be happy. They also have a wide range of activities for the residents. I did not try their food there, but they have a lovely dining room. The other thing is that they're located right next door to the Woodland Clinic and across the street from Woodland Memorial Hospital.

PositiveRooms are a little dated, but very nice, larger than newer facilities, and clean. Staff are friendly, a couple of the staff volunteer for a cat rescue and have kittens for the residents to play with and visit. Food is good, my grandmother enjoys the various selections. Med room staff is knowledgeable, and helpful. Great activity programs, my grandmother is always busy doing something.

PositiveThe Californian was nicer. We got to see the residents and they were all bright-eyed. We had no appointment, so it wasn't like they were cleaning the place up for us. It was nice. My relative enjoyed it himself. He was ready to stay. They had a nice library. They had what they called the living room. They had exercise going on. PositiveWe have our grandma at The Californian. We moved her here when her previous community closed down. The management and staff were so nice, helpful and quick with move in. The transition was simple and easy. My grandmas doctor is right next door which is great for appointments and using their transport. They food is really great, we love having happy hour! Activities are so fun. Super Bowl Party with Louie was FUN. Honestly wish we would of made the change to The Californian sooner!

Critical1. The management never resolves issues, but consistently has excuses. 2. The residents are left in bed or in the hallways majority of the time. Sometimes without pants on. 3. Very little activities to even keep residence engaged 5% of the day. 4. The place stinks. The residents are soiled for days. Tell's me staff is lazy or hates their job. 5. The communication sucks and is non-existent. 6. The front desk is rude. They can use someone more friendly and approachable. 7. The food is horrible.
